5 Act Vaudeville-style performance series in the NYC gallery window over 6 months time
Catinca Tabacaru Gallery NYC
TRANS-Ville is a contemporary performance art series exploring current states of political and social transition.
Inspired by the popular early 20th-century Vaudeville genre, TRANS-Ville consists of a collection of short-performances playing with notions of transition. Diverse artists explore a variety of Trans states — Trans being a prefix to many articulations: Transition, Transcendence, Transgender, Transcultural, Transparent, Transgressive, Transformation, etc. TRANS-Ville addresses multiple and inclusive narratives offering a variety in content, form and emotion.
We invite you to witness the voices, peep shows, satires, manifestos and queer visions of our City.
